Our History

With over 40 years of combined animal handling, transportation, and shipping experience we are an international pet moving and pet relocation company that specializes in providing pet travel and logistical planning for pets traveling throughout the Bahamas and Caribbean region.

Our parent company (lifeunleashed.com) is a proud member of IPATA (International Pet and Animal Transportation Association) and certified as a LAR specialist by the IATA (International Air Transport Association. We also serve as many of the Caribbean Islands’ destination expert for pet travel. In addition we operate The Caribbean Pet.

We work one-on-one with the individual island Chief Veterinary Officers and Governmental divisions. We pride ourselves on accuracy, responsiveness, and organizational ability. BAHAMAS UNITED AIR

Bahamas United Air’s parent company, Air Flight, was approved by the FAA in 1987 as an FAA licensed US Air Carrier to provide private passenger charter flights to Bahamas (as well as anywhere in the United States, Canada, Caribbean and Central America) hubbed out of Fort Lauderdale, Florida where we’ve been safely operating for 35 years, and climbing!  Ever since then, we have been offering reliable, private air charter flights to the Bahamas ~ every island!  35 years of success can be attributed to great leadership and even better clientele that faithfully keep returning to fly with us to The Bahamas each year.  Plus, we have great relationships with all The Bahamas Airbnbs, Boutique Hotels & Resorts, and private home owners as  well as the Bahamas Ministry of Tourism, Bahamas Civil Air Authority, Bahamas Embassy, Bahamas Hotel Association and Bahamas Association of Marinas.  We are lucky to have a dedicated sales team and pilots at the call, ready to provide you with the very best private charter service experience.  We’re known in the Bahamas as the go-to “…Anywhere, Anytime!”  Airplane Charter Service.

We provide our private charter flights to the Bahamas with a fleet of twin-engine aircraft which Air Flight owns and maintains.  We have a fantastic maintenance team and pilot crew as well as an exceptional flight safety record with the FAA, BCAA and NTSB. As an on-demand Part 135 Air Charter Operator, our team is ready to fly you for your dream vacation at a moment’s notice!

About the Founder

Chris Allen, founder and owner of Bahamas United Air and Air Flight was born in Texas and raised in Oklahoma.  Chris began his aviation career as pilot for the USAF. Chris was honored to have received his diploma from President George H.W. Bush Sr, graduating from the US Air Force Academy with a Bachelor of Science Degree with Honors in 1991. Chris has piloted airplanes to over 40 countries and to every continent in the world including flying the scientists and supplies for the National Science Foundation McMurdo Station, Antarctica, South Pole from New Zealand. Chris has held many distinguished flying positions in the US Air Force including Presidential Support Pilot, Nuclear Airlift Pilot, Antarctica Instructor Pilot, Aerial Refueling Instructor Pilot, Classified Missions, and was the personal pilot for the CINC Transportation Command and US Air Force Chief of Staff, General Ronald Fogleman. After his career in the Air Force, Chris flew Boeing 737s for Delta Airlines until 9/11.
