How it Works

We offer two options for travel to and from Florida to the Bahamas. The shared flight is a dedicated pet flight that must have 5 passengers to fly and offers a per seat cost. A private charter is more expensive and is available on demand. Air service is provided by our air partner Bahamas United Air Flight.

The Travel Process in 4 Easy Steps:

(1) PRE-FLIGHT

Booking Your Seat

Once your booking has been processed and your flight has been confirmed we will reach out to you and welcome you and your pet.

Flight Overview

A detailed Flight Brief will be emailed to you in advance to provide all the information required for your flight and what you can expect. We also are happy to answer any questions you may have and are available throughout the process to assist you.

Pet Documentation

A few days before the flight we will require your pet’s documentation for review. In certain cases this will be pre-cleared by the relevant authorities at your destination. We can provide assistance with the travel requirements. We will notify you once your pet has been approved for travel.

(2) DAY OF YOUR FLIGHT

How much luggage can I bring on my private jet charter?

The amount of luggage that you can bring on a private jet charter depends on the size of the aircraft, the number of passengers flying on the plane, and the weight of the luggage. Your CARIBBEAN PET JETS Air department agent can advise you of these details when you are setting up your private flights. It is usually in the range of 20 kg luggage & carry-on per passenger.

On Board Petiquette

All dogs must remain leashed or under your control at all times. Cats must stay in their carriers throughout the flight.

The onboard flight staff and attendants will be at your service to offer optimal service throughout your flight.

Arrival

On the day of your flight, you will be departing from a deluxe private terminal. Usually you are asked to arrive 60 minutes before the time of departure. Upon arrival you will be requested to present your flight details and passport.

You will avoid any long security, customs lines, or luggage retrieval. All of our flights depart from private terminals or areas to further enhance you and your pet’s travel experience.

Flight Lounge

The staff will take your luggage to be screened. There are available grassy areas adjacent to all the private terminals which your dog can be taken to before the flight. It is also advised that you do not feed your pet a heavy meal 4 hours prior to flight.

Boarding

Approximately 15 minutes before departure, the Captain or First Officer for your flight will introduce themselves to you, and escort you to the aircraft, which is normally a short walk away. Your bags will already be loaded or support is available with hand luggage.

When you arrive at the aircraft steps your dogs can make their own way up, or can be carried, however, they must always be on their leash.

You may bring your pet’s favorite blanket, bed or toy to may his or her journey most comfortable.

(3) ARRIVAL INTO THE BAHAMAS

When you arrive at your destination your aircraft will be met by the private Ground Handling Team.

BAHAMIAN REQUIREMENTS: To abide by the pet travel scheme required for all pets entering the Bahamas, the animal reception team will board the aircraft prior to disembarking to perform the necessary clearance. Quickly they will scan your pet’s microchip and confirm the pre-cleared documentation for entry.

Your luggage will be off loaded and will join you in customs, and within minutes you will be on your way.

Our pet travel team can be of further assistance to arrange onward travel to your final destination, assist with pet friendly accommodations, or pet friendly taxi service.
